Calcium Oxide Nanoparticle Production and its Application as Photocatalyst

This study aimed to synthesize and characterize calcium oxide (CaO) nanoparticles as a photocatalyst in the degradation process of indigo carmine (IC) dyes. Several steps were carried out produce CaO by mixing 0.5 M CaCl2 solution with various NaOH solutions (0.5; 0.8; 1.0 M). Experimental results showed prospective control particle sizes. The experiments also confirmed that greater concentration correlates yield produced. best condition was obtained when using ratio CaCl2: 1:2. Additional difficulties production particles nanometer size, which is due existence solid agglomeration, giving ideas need putting some additional experimental steps. photocatalytic studies several factors affecting photoreaction rate, including processing time, catalyst dosage, dye concentration. had performance catalyzing 50 minutes, shown combination 10 mg 80 ppm
